Port Chester High School Marching Band
Port Chester’s own, award winning, High School Marching Band is widely celebrated and participates in competitions throughout the country. They appeared in movies such as Spider-Man 3 and Miracle on 34th Street (1994 film) and have performed in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the 2003 Orange Bowl as well as the Disney World Festival of Lights.
Mt. Zion Baptist Church – Intergenerational Choir
Locating in Port Chester, the Mt Zion Baptist Church Intergenerational Choir showcases the spirit of community and faith. This gospel performance, by singers from age 8 to 80, will inspire you to sing along and dance in the streets. A perfect family concert for young children, parents, and grandparents to enjoy together.
Keltic Dreams – Multicultural Irish Dance Troup
The Keltic Dreams Irish Dancers will once again be coming to Port Chester Fest. This is a group of 33 children from PS 59 in the Bronx, NY. The students are all African American and Hispanic and had no background in Irish culture. Their music teacher, Caroline Duggan, a native of Ireland, introduced them to various Irish traditions, including Irish dance. With the support of the school, they began an Irish dancing program after school twice a week. Since then, they have had shows at the White House, Lincoln Center, in the Bronx Botanical Garden, and were the sole performers at the St Patrick's Day Parade in Queens for Mayor Bloomberg.
Rye Town Community Band
Residents from Port Chester and Rye Brook came together to form a wonderful community band. Come watch your neighbors as they play some wonderful music, have some laughs and share in the spirit of community!
Mario Tacca & Mary Mancini – Traditional music of Italy
Mario Tacca was born in Italy and is an award winning musician who specializes in traditional Italian music. While in Europe, he was the winner of many regional and national competitions. He went on to become a world champion Accordion player, winning the World Cup of Italy, the Grand Prix of Paris, the US National Competition and the International Accordion competition held at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Mario dazzles audiences across the US and around the world with his unmatched virtuosity on the accordion and his exciting interpretations of international music.
Pablito y Su Avalancha – Music of Uruguay and Salsa
Pablito y Su Avalancha are a group of musicians from Uruguay, based in Westchester, who perform a wide range of Latin American musical styles from Uruguyan carnival music to salsa.
Julie Corbalis – Local folk sensation
Local folk singer Julie Corbalis, has been writing and singing beautiful music for the last 10 years. Her latest album, entitled “Old Flames & New Names” is a set of soulful, acoustic rock. Julie has been featured in three prominent singer/songwriter showcases at the national venues The Bitter End, NYC, The Towne Crier in Pawling, and 2009's Pleasantville Music Festival. Fans have compared the vibe of the tunes from "Old Flames" to the early, rootsy, Sheryl Crow, and the honest storyteller, Carole King.
Markax Laiku Bolivia with Morenada Central de Port Chester Bolivian Carnival dancers
Markax Laiku Bolivia: A Port Chester based Bolivian band of nine musicians. They perform traditional and contemporary Bolivian music, featuring pan pipes, flutes, guitars, charango (mandolin) bass and drums and strong vocals.
